When you have developmental concerns

A questionnaire or screening result cannot provide a diagnosis. A pediatrician, developmental pediatrician, or another qualified healthcare professional can advise on appropriate evaluation.

01

Write down your observations

Note when concerns began, what you observe, and whether skills have changed. Avoid trying to determine a cause from timing alone.

02

Speak with a qualified professional

Ask about developmental evaluation and suitable local referral pathways. Seek urgent medical attention for an immediate health or safety concern.

03

Keep screening in context

A positive screen does not mean a child has autism, and fewer indicators do not rule out ASD or another developmental condition.
